Desert Friends

Desert Friends is a psych-rock band based in California’s high desert, a collaboration between Antrom Alexander and Lucas Penner.

I work with Antrom and Lucas to create illustration and custom lettering for all of their album and single artwork, as well as their tour poster. Each piece is thoughtfully designed to visually echo the energy and atmosphere of their music.

Sun Of The Desert

MURAL

Sun of the Desert is general store with two locations (Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms) offering a curated assortment of t-shirts, hoodies, hats, vintage workwear, jewelry, apothecary, books, tasty sundries and cool finds.

I created an exterior mural for the shop’s back hangout area, inspired by golden hour in the high desert. The concept features the sun setting over iconic Joshua Tree boulders, with a bold yet minimal design. A little abstraction keeps the piece visually striking while allowing it to complement rather than overpower the outdoor space

Woodward West

Woodward West is an action sports camp in Tehachapi, California. It’s a world-class destination where skateboarding, BMX, scooter, and more come together, offering a unique and inspiring experience for ages 7–17, with an adult camp closing out each summer.

I worked with René, the Senior Director, to design posters for various camp events and programming as well as a mural in The Canteen for their High Desert Disco. The mural blends western and rodeo vibes with a cosmic twist—mixing desert landscapes with space and disco inspired elements to create a playful, unexpected backdrop for the after-party and beyond.

Más o Menos is cozy spot in Joshua Tree offering coffee, cocktails, beer, wine, live music and good vibes.

I worked with the event manager to design promotional materials for their events, both for social media and in-house displays. The goal is to create a more cohesive look that aligns more closely with their brand standards.

A Place To Bury Strangers

Justin Kerr's debut novel is a murder mystery set against the real life stories of people mysteriously disappearing (and dying) in and around Joshua Tree.

I’ve had the opportunity to create several designs for A Place To Bury Strangers, featured on various covers and sold throughout the High Desert.

Vegan Yack Attack

Vegan Yack Attack is a vegan recipe blog for people who LOVE food, run by Jackie Sobon, that covers everything from indulgent desserts, to healthy dinners, and even the occasional raw recipe. 

I worked with Jackie to create brand visuals that feels friendly, funny, informative and down-to-earth—also including illustrated elements and a pattern to be used throughout the VYA brand.
